The mission of the Fine Arts Fund is to strengthen the arts for a greater Cincinnati through united fundraising, support services and the responsible investment and allocation of resources.
The oldest united arts fund in the United States, Charles P. and Anna Sinton Taft founded Fine Arts Fund as the Cincinnati Institute of Fine Arts in 1927. The Tafts left a legacy of support for the arts for future generations to enjoy, with the provision that the people of Cincinnati match it.
In addition to their gift, the Tafts donated their artwork and home, now the Taft Museum of Art to the city.
Over the years, Cincinnati has distinguished itself as a community that supports the arts, and it remains one of the few cities in the U.S. that is home to major arts organizations representing a full range of artistic expression. The Fine Arts Fund has been integral to advancing funding for these artistic institutions for over 80 years.
